Ada County welcomes John Tuell
Ada County welcomed John Tuell, Executive Director for the Robert F. Kennedy National Resource Center for Juvenile Justice, to speak about research and evidence-informed practices that improve outcomes in youth justice. Organizations across the Treasure Valley from multiple disciplines joined us on November 10, 2022 to hear how we can collaboratively guide and inform the youth justice system.

Ada County welcomed Dr. Robin Donaldson, Chief Operations Officer at Indiana Youth Services Association and principal of Collective Impact Training and Consulting, LLC, to speak about adolescent brain development and trauma-responsive care. On February 16, 2023 she introduced us to the neuroscience of the adolescent brain, how its development impacts behavior, how it is affected by stress and trauma, and de-escalation and communication techniques for working with youth in whatever “brain state” they are in.
