Counseling & Programs

The Programs Division provides clinical and community-based programming to court-involved youth. Our team of master’s-level licensed clinicians provide assessment and treatment of mental health, trauma and substance use disorders through group, individual and family counseling.  We also provide community service, web-based drug and alcohol education, victim services, job readiness, community resource referral and on-site educational services to help students obtain their GED or high school credits.

Our Services

Our counseling programs encompass:

Detention
Counseling is offered to all juveniles who are placed in secure custody and express issues related to suicide, mental health, family, drug/alcohol, or other concerns that the juvenile would like to speak to a counselor about.

Status Offender Program
The least restrictive and most pro-active program, this brief intervention is designed to assist the child and the family in avoiding further court involvement.

Individual & Family Counseling
Master’s level therapists provide individual and family counseling. Referrals come from judges, probation officers, and the community.

Assessment
Our clinicians provide substance abuse, trauma, and mental health assessments that help determine what type and level of care will provide the most benefit to the juvenile.

Our Community Service Program provides community-focused work opportunities for juveniles who are court-ordered to complete community service hours. We provide:

  • Work crews 6 days a week
  • Male and female specific work crews
  • Individual placements for clients who cannot participate in work crews

ECO is a program designed to meet the changing needs of our court-involved youth.  ECO offers a variety of services to clients, including:

  • GED preparation, study assistance in each test area, help with scheduling, payment assistance, etc.
  • Employability skills, including completed resume, job search, interviewing skills, work maturity skills, etc.
  • Independent living skills, such as personal finance, household management, nutrition, etc.

Our victim services specialist can assist individuals who are victims of juveniles in our Diversion Program. They help victims understand the diversion process, write a victim impact statement, complete restitution loss statements and work towards mediation if desired.

Cases handled through the courts are provided victim services through the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office or a local law enforcement agency.
