Ada County Juvenile Court Services (ACJCS) is one of the finest juvenile courts in the country. We practice the balanced and restorative approach to juvenile justice, which emphasizes reducing the number of youth involved with the justice system, repairing the harm caused by juvenile crime, and giving victims and the community a voice in the process. Our agency employs approximately 150 people who provide services within four collaborative divisions: detention, probation, programs, and support services.
To provide professional services that build, reinforce, and sustain skills to enhance the lives of youth and families.
The Juvenile Court Director is Dawn Burns. The presiding magistrate judges for ACJCS are Judge Cathleen MacGregor-Irby and Judge Ransom Bailey. We operate in partnership with the Ada County Board of Commissioners, the Fourth Judicial District Court, the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ada County Public Defender’s Office.
