Ada County West Nile Virus Update 8/7/2022 to 8/13/2022

Mosquitoes collected in additional Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped at the following times and locations:

Thursday, August 11:

  • near the intersection of East Twin Willow Drive and South Gekeler Lane in Boise
  • near the intersection of East Kuna Road and West Gamekeeper Drive in Kuna

Friday, August 12:

  • near the end of West Coriander Lane in Star

This post will be updated with any new WNV pool discoveries throughout the week.

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.

Visit the Ada County Mosquito Tracker to keep updated on mosquito pools that have tested positive for West Nile virus in Ada County.
