9/4/2023 to 9/8/2023 West Nile Virus Discoveries in Ada County

Mosquitoes collected in Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped in the following locations:

  • near the intersection of West Beacon Light Road and North Pollard Lane in Star on September 5th
  • near the intersection of West Heceta Head Drive and West Sultana Drive in Garden City on September 5th
  • near the intersection of West Bray Creek Street and North Tresa Place in Star on September 5th
  • near the intersection of West Floating Feather Road and North Lanewood Road in Eagle on September 5th
  • near the intersection of Cloverdale Road and East Deer Flat Road in Kuna on September 7th
  • near the end of South McLintock Place in Kuna on September 7th
  • near the intersection of South Red Shine Avenue and Blue Fox Street in Boise on September 7th
  • near the intersection of West Arnaz Street and Crosby Drive in Meridian on September 7th
  • near the intersection of East Autumn Way and East Springwood Drive in Meridian on September 7th
  • near the intersection of East Brigantine Drive and North Faldo Way in Eagle on September 8th

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.
