8/7/2023 to 8/11/2023 West Nile Virus Discoveries in Ada County

Mosquitoes collected in Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped in the following locations:

  • near the intersection of South Hidden Island Place and River Chase Way in Eagle on August 8th
  • near the end of South Star Road and Coriander Lane in Star on August 8th
  • near the intersection of East Riverside Drive and East Shore Drive in Eagle on August 8th
  • in Eagle Island State Park on August 8th
  • near the intersection of North Thistle Drive and West Cerulean Drive in Kuna on August 9th
  • near the intersection of Vyl Heights Drive and West Raul Street in Boise on August 9th
  • near the intersection of East Greenhurst Road and North Black Cat Road in Kuna on August 9th
  • near the intersection of North Boulder Creek Ave and North Lilyturf Avenue in Meridian on August 10th
  • near the intersection of West Heceta Head Drive and West Sultana Drive in Garden City on August 11th
  • near the intersection of West Hickory Hill Court and North Hickory Knot Street in Boise on August 11th
  • near the intersection of North Stonehenge Way and West Pine Avenue in Meridian on August 11th
  • in Redwood Park in Boise on August 11th

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.
