8/14/2023 to 8/18/2023 West Nile Virus Discoveries in Ada County

Mosquitoes collected in Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped in the following locations:

  • near the intersection of West Bray Street and North Tresa Place in Star on August 15th
  • near the intersection of West Goxinia Street and West Carlbee Inlet Drive in Star on August 15th
  • near the intersection of West Rosebriar Lane and North Stonebriar Lane in Star on August 15th
  • near the intersection of North Saddlebrook Way and West Gambrell Street in Star on August 15th
  • near the intersection of West Floating Feather Road and North Lanewood Road in Eagle on August 15th
  • near the intersection of South Short Road and West Moon Valley Road in Eagle on August 15th
  • near the intersection of West Hickory Hill Court and North Hickory Knot Street in Boise on August 15th
  • near the intersection of East Greenhurst Road and North Black Cat Road in Kuna on August 16th
  • near the intersection of West 4th Street and Yardley Avenue in Kuna on August 16th
  • in Hubbard Reservoir Recreation Area in Kuna on August 16th
  • near the intersection of West Moon Valley Road and South Short Road in Eagle on August 17th
  • in Barber Park in Boise on August 17th
  • in Borah Park in Boise on August 17th
  • near the intersection of West Three Mile Creek Way and West Targee Street in Boise on August 17th
  • in Florence Park in Boise on August 17th
  • near the intersection of Amber Street and Lubkin Street in Boise on August 17th
  • near the intersection of North Linder Road and West Almaden Drive in Meridian on August 17th
  • near the intersection of East Walling Court and Granite Way in Boise on August 17th
  • near the intersection of South Devon Avenue and West Andromeda Drive in Boise on August 17th
  • near the intersection of East Segundo Street and North Rosa Springs Avenue in Meridian on August 18th
  • near the intersection of West Arnaz Street and Crosby Drive in Meridian on August 18th
  • near the intersection of Ravenswood Drive and East Autumn Way in Meridian on August 18th
  • near the intersection of East Greenhurst Road and North Black Cat Road in Kuna on August 18th
  • near the intersection of North Greenfield Avenue and North Golf View Way in Meridian on August 18th
  • near the intersection of North Stewart Road and East Hubbard Road in Kuna on August 18th
  • in Chateau Park in Meridian on August 18th

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.
