7/17/2023 to 7/21/2023 West Nile Virus Updates In Ada County

Mosquitoes collected in Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped in the following locations:

  • near the end of Gantz Avenue in Boise on Thursday, July 20
  • near the intersection of North Moon Bello Way and West Canole Bello Court in Eagle on Friday, July 21
  • near the intersection of North Humphreys Way and West Hidden Springs Drive in Boise on Friday, July 21

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.
