7/10/2023 to 7/14/2023 West Nile Virus Updates in Ada County

Mosquitoes collected in Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped at the following times and locations:

  • near the intersection of West Raul Street and Vyl Heights Drive in Boise on Tuesday, July 11th
  • near the intersection of West Gamekeeper Drive and Cloverdale Road in Kuna on Tuesday, July 11th
  • near the intersection of West Gambrell Street and North Saddlebrook Way in Star on Tuesday, July 11th
  • near the intersection of River Chase Way and South Hidden Place in Eagle on Wednesday, July 12th
  • near the intersection of East Kaibab Trail and North Diamond Creek Avenue in Meridian on Wednesday, July 12th
  • near the intersection of Gantz Avenue and South Diego Way in Boise on Thursday, July 13th

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.
