Ada County Updating Animal Control Ordinance

Ada County is updating its Animal Control Ordinance. An updated version of the Animal Control Ordinance will be discussed further during the January 24, 2023 Open Business Meeting (OBM) at 9:00 AM.

Commissioners heard initial comments during the Nov. 29th OBM and tabled their decision to the Dec. 27th meeting.  Review the DRAFT update (12/20/22) and share with us your thoughts at [email protected]

Remember: If you live in the City of Boise, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Garden City or Meridian please review your city’s respective ordinance which would apply to you and your family. The ordinance under review right now applies to Unincorporated Ada County – areas of Ada County that are not within city limits.

The Ada County Animal Control Ordinance is enacted to provide for the health, safety and welfare of the people of Ada County and the humane and safe treatment of various animals. The ordinance also establishes required procedures and regulations for the licensing and control of dogs and kennels.
