Ada County Commissioners Adopt FY19 Tentative Budget

(Boise, ID) – The Board of Ada County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the FY19 Tentative Budget during this morning’s Open Business Meeting. The balanced budget in the amount of $262,381,628, is for County funds, including the Pest District, and Mosquito Abatement District. The Board of Commissioners subsequently approved the tentative budgets for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) District and Avimor CID No. 1 in each of their respective meetings.

This budget includes funding for construction of an additional courtroom and parking garage. The previously proposed audio/visual upgrades for 18 courtrooms and land acquisition for expansion of the Ada County Jail were not funded in this year’s budget.

In adopting the tentative budget, Commission Chairman, Dave Case, stated, “Today’s vote is a cumulative effort amongst a lot of dedicated county employees and we thank them for all of their efforts in moving this budget forward.”

Ada County Clerk of the Court and County Budget Officer, Christopher Rich, presented the balanced budgets pursuant to Idaho Code §31-1604, which will be published in the Idaho Statesman on August 14, and updated on Ada County’s website after final adoption.

August 21, 2018, will be the final action on the FY19 budget for the County when the BOCC convenes in its Open Business Meeting at 9:00 a.m. to adopt the budget, by resolution, fixing the final budget and making appropriations to county offices, departments, and districts.
