2nd Public Hearing on Petition to Dissolve the Meridian Library District

Approximately 500 people showed up to testify Monday March 20th on the petition to dissolve the Meridian Library District. Since the hearing extended to 10:00 PM we are making another opportunity available for individuals who signed up Monday and were not able to share their thoughts.

Anyone who signed up to testify Monday March 20th who did not get a chance to testify be able to testify at a second public hearing Wednesday March 22, 2023. The 2nd public hearing will also begin at 6:00 PM. Ada County Courthouse 200 W. Front Street, Boise, Idaho 83702

The commissioners have 10 days from Wednesday to make a decision. That decision would be to either hold an election or not hold an election. If they decide to hold an election the only thing on the ballot would be to dissolve the district or not. Should a dissolution occur, all property and assets of the library district shall be disposed of by the Ada County Board of Commissioners. Any indebtedness must first be retired. Any remainder will be placed in the county general expense fund.
