Ada County West Nile Virus Update 8/29/2021 to 9/4/2021

Mosquitoes collected in additional Ada County traps tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), this week. The mosquitoes were trapped at the following times and locations:

Tuesday, August 31:

  • near South Cloverdale Road and East Deer Flat Road in Kuna
  • near North Serenity Lane and West Chinden Boulevard in Meridian

Thursday, September 2:

  • near the intersection of East Walling Court and Granite Way in Boise

This post will be updated with any new WNV pool discoveries throughout the week.

The areas surrounding the detection sites will be treated within a one-mile radius to knock down adult mosquito populations and prevent human cases of WNV. The Ada County Mosquito Abatement District will continue to monitor and treat populations throughout the abatement district boundaries to control mosquitoes and prevent WNV from being transmitted to humans and livestock.

Visit the Ada County Mosquito Tracker to keep updated on mosquito pools that have tested positive for West Nile virus in Ada County.
