Detectives find marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, and LSD in Bench area home

A 24-year-old Boise man is charged with drug trafficking after deputies bought a pound-and-a half of marijuana from him last week as part of a long-term investigation.

Morgan C. Dotson is charged with three felony counts of trafficking in marijuana and a count of delivery of a controlled substance in connection with the case. Deputies purchased marijuana from Dotson on two previous occasions prior to Thursday’s arrest.

Deputies also found a large stash of illegal drugs in Dotson’s Boise-Bench area home  — including significant amounts of LSD, MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, marijuana concentrate oil, and over $4,000 in cash — while serving a search warrant on Thursday.

Detectives began their investigation in December after developing evidence Dotson was selling drugs from his residence in the Rose Hill/Latah streets neighborhood.

More charges are possible.

The crime of trafficking marijuana is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Dotson is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $250,000 bond. He is set to be in court on March 5.
