Deputy cited in crash

On 4/20/2024 around 9pm, Detective Dallas Denney was responding to assist Deputy Tobin Bolter when she was involved in a two-vehicle injury crash near Meridian/Amity roads in Meridian.

Both Det. Denney and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.  Both Det. Denney and the other driver were later released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Idaho State Police responded to the crash that night and performed an investigation into the circumstances.  On 4/22/2024, Idaho State Police cited Det. Denney for failing to practice due regard pursuant to Idaho Code 49-623 while responding to the critical incident.

Per policy when a deputy is accused of, cited or arrested regarding any alleged criminal action, the ACSO conducts an independent internal affairs investigation into the deputy’s conduct to determine if the deputy may have violated ACSO policy or procedure.  A finding of a policy violation may then result in the ACSO making the determination if any further professional discipline is appropriate, which will be handled as a personnel matter.
