Deputy Bolter Procession & Memorial Service

Deputy Tobin Bolter’s memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 at 3pm at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho. The indoor service is reserved for Deputy Bolter’s family, friends, law enforcement and law enforcement families. The indoor service will be closed to the general public and media.

Funeral Procession

We encourage the community to line the procession route to show support for Deputy Bolter and his family.

The procession will begin in the area of Highway 55/State St. in Eagle at about 12:30pm on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024. Please anticipate significant traffic congestion and delays along the route. We expect the procession to last approximately two hours.

  • The procession will begin near Highway 55 and State St. in Eagle
  • The procession will travel west on State St. to Star Rd.
  • The procession will turn south on Star Rd.
  • The procession will travel south on Star Rd. to Chinden/Hwy 20-26
  • The procession will turn west on Chinden/20-26 to Can Ada Rd.
  • The procession will travel south on Can-Ada Rd. to Franklin Rd.
  • The procession will turn east on Franklin Rd.
  • The procession will travel east on Franklin Rd. to the entrance of the Ford Idaho Center.

We encourage citizens along the route to listen to directions and to stand in safe places along the roadway. The stretch of roadway on Star Rd between W Joplin and Chinden does not have safe places to stand; please avoid standing along this road.

How Can I Observe The Service?

At The Outdoor Amphitheater
The community may observe the service in the Ford Idaho Center’s outdoor amphitheater. The service will be livestreamed in the amphitheater.
Online via Livestream

The community can also observe the service from home via livestream on the Ada County Sheriff’s Office YouTube channel.

If I Attend In Person, Where Can I Park?

If you are attending, plan on parking off-site around the Idaho Center in a designated area. Parking in the Ford Idaho Center lot will primarily be reserved for family, friends, and law enforcement personnel from the procession. There will be limited parking on-site and road closures will impact entrances.

Road Closures and Traffic Impact

Starting at 1pm:

  • Idaho Center Blvd from Franklin Rd to Cherry Ln will be CLOSED to all traffic

Starting at approximately 5pm:

  • Franklin between the Idaho Center and Star Rd. will be CLOSED
  • Idaho Center Blvd from Flamingo Ave. to Cherry Ln. will be CLOSED
  • The westbound exit of I-84 at Garrity Blvd. will be CLOSED
  • Eastbound traffic that is exiting at the Garrity Blvd. exit will be forced to go southbound on Garrity Blvd

Nampa Police have worked hard on load-in and load-out traffic plans. While no plan for this area at this time is ideal, it will be important that everyone follows the designated routes.

If you attend, or are in the impacted area, follow the posted signs, watch for instructions on reader boards and go the way those directing traffic are sending you, even if it is not your preferred route.

Parking

Businesses in the area have been very generous to offer community parking, and Valley Regional Transit has stepped in to graciously provide free shuttles from some of the commercial/business parking areas.

The Gateway Shopping center around JCPenney is offering free parking and there will be shuttle buses from that location to the perimeter of the Idaho Center.

Amazon is allowing free parking on their nearby site and Valley Regional Transit will also be offering free shuttle services from this lot.

Understand the shuttles will get you near the perimeter of the Idaho Center complex, but they will not be delivering riders to the entrances or entrance ramps.

Several businesses around the Idaho Center complex, including Walmart, College of Western Idaho and Edmark Toyota, are offering sections of their parking lots for overflow parking. For the immediate business areas, you will need to walk to the memorial service venue. Please only park in business lots that are marked with “funeral parking” signs.

When you are choosing a parking spot, be respectful of the residents and businesses in the area of the Idaho Center and be cautious of increased traffic when you are walking to the Ford Idaho Center.

If I Attend In Person, Where Do I Go?

Please go to the public entrance leading to the amphitheater on the northwest side of the building.
