National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood togetherness to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out (NNO) enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighborhoods together under positive circumstances.
It’s one of the favorite things we do every year – and we have to cancel it for 2020. Thanks a lot, COVID-19.
Our NNO this year was originally scheduled for August, but we postponed until October. The hope was delaying until the fall would make it safer. That hasn’t happened. The coronavirus had other ideas.
As much as we would like to see you all, it just isn’t safe to have large gatherings at this point – and coronavirus restrictions and social distancing guidelines currently in place for Ada County don’t allow it.
We know it’s you – the residents – who make our community a safer place to live, work and play. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to this event. We’re already looking forward to NNO 2021!
