Critical Incidents

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force was created in 2001 by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the Boise, Meridian, Garden City, and Idaho State police.

The task force conducts criminal investigations of officer-involved incident that involve serious injury, death, or potential of serious injury or death as a result of use-of-force.

The agreement calls for one of the agencies not directly involved in a critical incident to do the investigation and present the results to the Ada County Prosecutor. That agency reviews the report and determines if any laws have been broken.

When that review is completed, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office will post a redacted copy of the CITF report for the critical incidents we are involved in.
