Deputies investigate shooting outside party in south Ada County over the weekend

Deputies continue to investigate what led to gunfire outside a house party in the Amity/Five Mile roads neighborhood just before midnight Friday.

While it appears no one was injured, at least one outbuilding nearby was hit by a bullet.

Deputies were sent to a home in the 5300 block of S. Five Mile Road at 11:57 p.m. Friday to investigate a report of shots fired.

When deputies arrived, they found several people near the home. They were told shots were fired after a group of men crashed the party earlier in the night and got into an argument with other partygoers.

Witnesses say someone in the group of party-crashers pulled out a shotgun out of a car outside the house and fired it at least once. Witnesses then say someone at the party fired a gun at group of men as they were driving away.

Deputies interviewed several people and gathered evidence at the scene but were not able to locate the car the group of men left in.

The next morning, deputies found a nearby church sign and outbuilding were damaged by gunfire.

Deputies have not made any arrests at this time. The case is still under active investigation.
