34-year-old Boise man charged with multiple felonies after leading deputies on vehicle pursuit early Tuesday

Deputies found methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, marijuana, and psilocybin mushrooms in a car a 34-year-old Boise man crashed and abandoned at the end of a brief vehicle pursuit along Chinden Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Boise and Meridian police eventually found and arrested Eric E. Heisley about two miles from the crash.

Heisley is being held at the Ada County Jail on felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and eluding arrest; and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and providing false information to police.

The incident began just after 1 a.m. when a deputy driving westbound on Chinden Boulevard, just west of Glenwood Drive, noticed a Jaguar sedan moving erratically and drifting between lanes.

The deputy pulled the car over on Chinden, just east of Cloverdale Road, and began talking to the driver, who gave the deputy a false name but was later identified as Heisley.

When the deputy went back to his patrol vehicle to run the information, a Boise Police officer arrived at the scene.

That’s when Heisley took off and started driving westbound on Chinden Boulevard at a high rate of speed.

The deputy started following Heisley as he drove west on Chinden. The pursuit ended when Heisley lost control of the car and crashed it in the parking lot of a business when he tried to turn left on to Fox Run Way.

Heisley got out of the car and ran away. Meridian and Boise police found and arrested him a brief time later as he was walking by Sawtooth Middle School.

Heisley is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
