We are so happy you’re interested in learning more about The Park at Expo Idaho!  When completed in 2026 it will be the destination park everyone is talking about.  Where else in the United States do you have 50+ acres located along a beautiful river in an urban area being developed into a multi-use park for everyone to enjoy!?

So, what exactly is happening?  Ada County is developing a public park on the Expo Idaho property, that’s right near the intersection of State Highways 26 and 44 – what most people know as Glenwood Avenue and Chinden Blvd. If you attend the Western Idaho Fair each year you know where this is.  But don’t worry. Based on popular demand the Western Idaho Fair isn’t going anywhere.

The Park at Expo Idaho project replaces the former Les Bois racetrack and associated facilities with a public park that will create a new vibrant outdoor recreation area for Ada County and Garden City characterized by direct access to nature-based experiences adjacent to the Boise River.

The intricate process of designing and building a new park is lengthy so we’ve created this page to help you stay informed about the status of the design, approvals, and construction.

Ada County Commissioner Ryan Davidson, Chairman Rod Beck, and Commissioner Tom Dayley look forward to collaborating with all the key stakeholders involved in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring you a truly unique destination park that appeals to a wide variety of interests.
