Ryan Davidson
District 1 Commissioner

Ryan Davidson was elected to his 4-year term on the Ada County Board of Commissioners in November 2020. Ryan is a longtime political activist and a strong supporter of lowering property taxes, limiting regulations, and ensuring the local economy rebounds after COVID-19 is over.

In 2006, without any formal legal training, he argued and won an important decision in the Idaho Supreme Court protecting the citizens’ right to the municipal initiative process. He also secured a federal court decision upholding First Amendment rights for Idaho citizens. Davidson served as Chairman of the Ada County Republican Party from 2018 – 2020. In March of 2020, he presided over the Central Committee meeting to select a new commissioner to fill the vacancy left by the early retirement of Commissioner Rick Visser.

Davidson was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Boise with his mother, father, and two younger sisters in 1995. His parents now reside in Nampa and his sisters currently reside in Hawaii. Ryan lives in Garden City.
