Rod Beck
District 2 Commissioner

Chairman

Rod Beck is the Chairman of the Ada County Board of Commissioners. Beck has an extensive background in conservative governance in Idaho including having served in the state Senate as Majority Leader.

Beck believes it is critically important to work each day to uphold the Idaho Constitution. He believes government should operate within its means just as families do. Beck supports free markets, limited government and cultivating a business-friendly environment. He believes property taxes are too high and is working to address the issue in part by limiting government spending where appropriate.

Beck’s considerable experience includes serving as Executive Director of the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) whose mission is to provide funding for affordable housing opportunities in Idaho communities where they are most needed. Additionally he has nearly four decades experience as a real estate broker.

Born and raised on an Idaho potato farm, Beck grew up planting and harvesting potatoes which gave him a solid work ethic. Rod and his wife Rhonda have been married for 45 years. They have three daughters and three sons, as well as 17 grandchildren.
