PROPERTY TAX BILLS REDUCED

Ada County property owners will see savings and credits on their 2023 property tax bills being sent out later this month from the Ada County Treasurer’s Office.
“This is 100% thanks to the Idaho Legislature who chose to help taxpayers across the state lower their property tax bill,” said Ada County Board Chairman Rod Beck.

Preliminary values from the State indicate that Ada County tax bills could include savings of more than $99 million.
“Property owners in Ada County and around the state asked the legislature to provide relief from rising property taxes at a time when inflation keeps cutting into everyone’s savings and discretionary spending,” said Ada County Commissioner Tom Dayley. “We congratulate the legislature on this tax relief and look forward to collaborating with lawmakers to keep taxes low while providing essential services for everyone in Ada County.”

Most of the savings will apply to owner-occupied homes. The median home price in Ada County is approximately $586,000. This could mean average savings of several hundred dollars. Exact savings will be listed on each tax bill.

Ada County will calculate bills showing the savings and reduced taxes in the coming weeks. Bills will be sent out by November 27. Taxpayers have the option of paying the full or first half by December 20.
