Property Tax Exemption Appeals

Ada County Board of Equalization

Applications for Property Tax exemption are submitted to the Board of Ada County Commissioners, which then makes determinations of exemption eligibility. Should a property owner disagree with the decision made by the Board of Ada County Commissioners, they may appeal the property tax exemption decision to the Ada County Board of Equalization. Pursuant to Idaho Code § 63-501, an appeal of property tax exemption denial must be received by the Ada County Board of Equalization by the 4th Monday in June. Note: No late tax appeal forms will be accepted. You may download the attached application and return it to the Ada County Board of Equalization at 200 West Front Street, 3rd Floor, Boise, Idaho, 83702. You may also fax the completed application to 208-287-7009. If you wait until the last day to file, please be aware that your fax may not reach us timely due to the volume of forms submitted. If we have not received your appeal in our office by 5:00 p.m. it cannot be accepted even if you have been attempting to fax it to us.
