Fireworks Ban for Unincorporated Ada County

Every 4th of July we enjoy celebrating our nation’s birthday. It is an important holiday to celebrate our independence. Because we live in the generally arid Intermountain West we have threats to mitigate that other parts of the country don’t experience. That’s why the Ada County Commissioner signed a resolution banning fireworks in parts of Unincorporated Ada County. Where exactly is that? Simply put that is outside the city limits of our Ada County cities – Star, Eagle, Meridian, Garden City, Boise and Kuna. We’ve included a map so you know exactly where.

The fireworks ban for Unincorporated Ada County has been approved by Ada County Commissions every year for roughly twenty years. Any person in violation of the ban could be charged with a misdemeanor.

Important note: Setting off fireworks on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land is always prohibited.
BLM’s 2024 Fire Prevention Order makes it illegal to use fireworks, exploding targets, steel component ammunition, tracer ammunition, shooting at steel or ferrous material targets or burn explosive materials on BLM-managed public lands in Idaho.
