Ada County Kicks-Off 2018 Float Season

(Boise, ID) –Ada County Parks & Waterways is excited to announce the official opening of the 2018 Boise River Float Season in Barber Park this FRIDAY JUNE 22nd!  All Barber Park services including the Boise River Raft & Tube equipment rental and shuttle service will be fully operational.  Equipment rentals open at 12pm and the first shuttle departs Ann Morrison Park at 1pm.

While we understand the community’s excitement to participate in this annual Treasure Valley tradition, as a reminder to all floaters, the Boise River is never free and clear of all potential hazards and is a float at your own risk endeavor.

The keys to any fun float trip are preparation, safety, and proper equipment. Outside temperatures may be hot but the river is cold and swift so proper clothing, footwear, and a well-fitted personal floatation device (PFD) are recommended for all floaters.  Children 14 and under are required by Idaho code to wear an approved PFD.  Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited on the Boise River and floaters must use the designated take-out location on the river left in Ann Morrison Park.

NOTE: Local officials will be available for interviews at the Barber Park beach at noon on Friday.
