Deputies arrest Boise man charged with rape after brief car and foot pursuits Monday morning

Deputies arrested a 20-year-old Boise man Monday charged with rape who had been actively avoiding investigators since late March.

Jacob S. Corral is being held in the Ada County Jail on a fugitive to Idaho charge. He is charged in Utah with two counts of rape, one count of forcible sodomy, and one count aggravated assault in connection with an incident last December.

Utah authorities issued an arrest warrant for Corral on March 11. Deputies with our ACTION team had information Corral knew he had an active arrest warrant and was hiding in the Boise area.

Deputies were searching for Corral when they found him driving a black Nissan sedan around 10 a.m. Monday in the Chinden Boulevard/Eagle Road neighborhood and began tracking him.

When a deputy attempted to pull Corral over on Milwaukee Street, just north of Ustick Road, Corral drove away at a high rate of speed and turned left on to nearby Pembrook Drive. He stopped the car, jumped out on Kilarney Drive, and ran into a nearby backyard.

A passenger in the car then moved over to the driver’s seat and took off. While deputies eventually pulled over the car a short distance from there, others began searching the Kilarney Drive neighborhood for Corral.

Deputies following footprints eventually found Corral hiding in the backyard of a home on nearby Pembrook Drive, where he surrendered and was arrested by without further incident.

Corral is being held in the Ada County Jail without bond.

Corral is charged in connection with an incident in Salt Lake City in December where he is accused of meeting a woman on a dating app and sexually assaulting her.

Authorities in Utah identified Corral as a suspect and interviewed him in Idaho earlier this year.

Our ACTION team works closely with and was assisted Monday by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force (GIFT) – which includes Boise and Garden City police.

We also want to thank everyone who provided information on the case since we shared Corral’s information on social media last week.
