Boise man who eluded arrest during April SWAT search in Garden City neighborhood is now in custody

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 31-year-old Boise man who escaped from parole officers April 26 and then eluded capture during the resulting search in a Garden City neighborhood.

Members of the ACTION team arrested Shane M. Tucker outside a home in a Southeast Boise neighborhood just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Tucker is charged with a felony count of escape by one on probation for a felony and a misdemeanor count of unlawful entry in the connection with the April case. He is also charged with a parole violation.

Tucker was handcuffed and in the custody of Idaho Department of Probation and Parole around 1 p.m. April 26 outside his residence in the 9400 block of Wakefield Court in Garden City when he got free and ran into the neighborhood.

Garden City Police, Idaho Probation and Parole officers, and ACSO deputies responded and began searching for Tucker, who was seen at one point going into a home nearby. They were not able to locate him.

The Ada Metro SWAT team arrived a brief time later and joined the search. They searched the home but were not able to locate Tucker.

Officials eventually called off the active search that night. Deputies continued to investigate the case and follow leads, which led them to find Tucker Wednesday afternoon at a home on S. Annett Street in Southeast Boise.

Once the ACTION team confirmed Tucker was there, they set up a perimeter around the home to prevent him from trying to get away. Tucker gave up a short time later. Deputies arrested him without further incident and took him to the jail, where he is being held without bond.
