Ada County Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) has been proactively taken offline.
Our 911 and non-emergency lines are unaffected by this. Our dispatchers are still taking calls for service and sending law enforcement, fire or paramedics.
Late in the evening of July 13, 2024, our active and ongoing monitoring of Ada County’s computer network allowed us to detect unusual activity in our Emergency Communications environment.
As soon as we learned this, we began investigating and determining the effects of the incident. We also are working with nationally recognized third-party cybersecurity and data forensics consultants to assist us.
In an abundance of caution, we have taken some affected systems offline while we work to secure and restore services safely. Our dispatchers are working on backup systems and processes, sending help where needed. Again, 911 and non-emergency call taking, law enforcement, fire and medical emergency resources continue to operate.
