37-year-old Boise woman arrested in connection with fatal Idaho 55 crash

A 39-year-old Cascade woman died after being hit by a minivan while standing off the side of Idaho 55 late Monday night.

The driver of the minivan, 37-year-old Natalie  A. Hodson, is charged with felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an injury crash

Initial information indicates Kristina Rowley pulled over the pickup she was driving off the side of the road and on to the berm of the northbound lane of Idaho 55 between Beacon Light and Seamans Gulch roads. Rowley got out the truck and was checking the back of a flatbed trailer she was hauling shortly after 9 p.m. when she was hit by the minivan.

Witnesses say the woman driving the van, later identified as Hodson, kept going north on Idaho 55 after the collision.

A witness called 911 to report the crash at 9: 21 p.m. Monday.

Deputies arrived to find Rowley badly injured and began immediate first aid. Paramedics arrived a short time later and took her to a local hospital, where she was declared deceased a short time later. There was another passenger in the pickup truck but that person was not injured in the collision.

While that was happening, a witness to the crash followed Hodson for a short distance before Hodson pulled over on nearby Suttle Lake Drive. Deputies arrived moments later.

Deputies interviewed Hodson at the scene and collected evidence there and at the crash site before they arrested Hodson and booked her into the Ada County Jail early Tuesday morning.

Hodson is set to make her initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
