Detectives are working to determine if a 28-year-old Boise man who had illegal sexual contact with three pre-teenage girls multiple times between 2012 and 2015 could have any other victims.
John E. Torres is charged with four felony counts of lewd conduct and two felony counts of sex abuse of a child under the age of 16. He is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Detectives began their investigation in May, after being contacted by a third party, who told them Torres had illegal sexual contact with a 9-year-old girl in 2015 at a Star-area home.
Detectives put a safety plan in place immediately and began their investigation, which included interviewing several people.
Detectives developed evidence Torres had illegal sexual with two other pre-teenage girls at a home in northwest Boise around the same time – and that the abuse for all three victims occurred at the two homes between 2012 and 2015.
All victims in the case were known to Torres.
Detectives sent the evidence to Ada County prosecutors in June. An arrest warrant was issued for Torres on July 23.
Torres turned himself in at the Ada County Jail Monday night.
The crime of lewd conduct is punishable by up to life in prison.
