24-year-old Boise woman charged with felony injury to child

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies declared two boys under the age of five to be in imminent danger last month after discovering the south Boise-area home the kids were living in was full of animal feces, urine and dirty diapers.

Sierra C. White, the children’s mother, is charged with two counts of felony injury to child.

Deputies arrested White Saturday morning at her home in the Columbia/Five Mile roads neighborhood. The 24-year-old White was released from jail later that night after posting a $5,000 bond.

Deputies went to the house on June 24 after getting a tip from a third party that the conditions the kids were living in were dangerous.

Deputies found numerous piles of animal feces inside, along with dozens of dirty diapers and other dangerous items in the reach of the children, like bullets, prescription medicine, and a space heater that was plugged in but not working.

Most of the rooms in the home were full of trash and other clutter, like a litter box full of cat feces in the kitchen. Several items of food had mold on them. There were forks on the floor.

Deputies declared the boys to be in imminent danger and released them into the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Ada County prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for White on the two counts of felony injury to child on July 11.

Each charge of felony injury to child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

A preliminary hearing  on the case is set for July 22.
