On 6/7/24 at approximately 0009 hours, deputies were dispatched to the area of N. Cartwright Rd. south of N. Pierce Park Ln. for a report of a single vehicle crash. Ada County Dispatch was advised by a calling party that the vehicle was on fire and both occupants had been removed from the vehicle.
Preliminary information indicates that the 17-year-old male driver from Boise was traveling northbound on N. Cartwright Rd. in an Audi S3 when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The driver and his 18-year-old male passenger were transported to Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho via ambulance. The driver later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The crash is under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
