Shared Public Assets

Since the Ada County Landfill (originally Hidden Hollow Landfill) was opened in 1972, Ada County has systematically and strategically acquired property around the site to shield commercial and residential development from daily landfill operations.

Some of that land now has multiple uses, through partnerships with others. This allows the public to use specific areas of the land for recreational opportunities while continuing to protect the landfill from other development.
