When is My Trash Day?
There are several companies that handle the day-to-day trash pickup for Ada County.
For Boise, Meridian, Star, and Garden City trash services, contact Republic Services at (208) 345-1265. Follow the link and enter your address to learn when your trash will be picked up.
For Kuna, sign up for trash services with J & M Sanitation through Kuna City Website.
For Unincorporated Ada County and City of Eagle, contact Hardin Sanitation at (208) 642-2629.
How Much Does it cost?
The cost to dispose at the Ada County Landfill is $29/ton with a $15.00 minimum, up to 1,035 lbs.
When is the Landfill Open?
The Landfill is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is open on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Why is the Landfill Closed on Sundays?
Since most of the major landfill users are commercial waste haulers that don’t pick up on Sundays, it would not be cost-effective, based on the modest amount of fees charged to individuals, for the landfill to stay open on Sundays. The landfill is an enterprise fund. It receives no tax dollars. Therefore, it must be fiscally managed in a manner that assures that it can financially support the overall operation.

What Can I take to the Landfill?
At the landfill we can take just about everything. How it is handled and deposited will depend on what it is. Ada County Landfill is a Solid Waste Landfill. We do not accept hazardous materials or liquids. We accept solid waste materials that are generated in Ada County.
Can I Take Something Out of the Landfill?
The landfill is an active construction site. Due to a number of reasons, scavenging is not allowed at the Ada County Landfill. We are continuously working on ways to reduce the amount of “too good to be tossed” items going into the landfill. Please consider donating valuable items before tossing.
Does the Landfill Recycle?
Yes, we recycle many items at the Landfill, although recycling at the Landfill is different from recycling at your curbside. Items included in our diversion program:
- Wood waste
- Scrap Metal
- Appliances
- Tires
- Household Cardboard
- E-waste- please go through Scale House
- Hazardous Materials- please take directly to HHW Facility or Mobile Site
