The current WUI chart for most of Ada County’s facilities. Generally, a low WUI signifies efficient water use.
What is a WUI?
A Water Use Index is a basic measure of a facility’s water use, in gallons, on a per square foot basis. Certain building types will always use more water than others. Cooling towers and irrigation are examples of systemic factors that can influence water use at a facility. Installation of more efficient water fixtures, and preemptive actions to avoid leaks, are examples of opportunities to improve building performance on the WUI.
