Jail Kitchen Remodel

With a typical daily population of over 900 inmates, the Ada County Jail provides literally thousands of meals each week. Much of the work is done by inmate labor and requires efficient, heavy-duty equipment.

The purpose of this project is to remodel and expand the kitchen area at the Ada County Jail to accommodate a larger commercial dishwasher and drying area. Project will also provide additional space for a walk-in freezer and dry food storage. Other work included replacing existing ceiling with new ceiling and installing new LED light fixtures.

• ENERGY STAR Dishwasher cleans up to 14,316 dishes/hr
• Double-sided dish table with 4 pre-rinse stations, 2 on each side
• Pulper processes up to 3,000 lbs/ hr of food waste, paper, plastic, and Styrofoam®
• Large walk-in freezer (17’10″x24’6″x8’7″) with heavy-duty reinforced the floor

• New dishwasher conserves energy and water by replenishing each tank with heated water from an adjacent tank as it moves from rinse to prewash
• Pulper reduces waste up to 88% in volume for fewer trips to the dumpster
• Pulper uses 66% less water than a disposer and reuses 95% of its water
