RE: State v. Adam Bradley Paulson, CR01-17-47525

Judge Deborah Bail sentenced Adam Bradley Paulson today for the Vehicular Manslaughter that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Madeline Duskey.  Paulson was granted probation by the court with a suspended 15-year sentence.  The State requested a prison sentence of 15 years that would have required Paulson to serve at least five of those before being eligible for parole.

An Ada County jury found Paulson guilty on November 2nd, 2018 of Felony Vehicular Manslaughter for his role in a crash which occurred on November 18th, 2017, near the intersection of Eagle Road and Riverside Drive in Eagle. Paulson was convicted of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with an alcohol concentration of .213 as shown by analysis of his blood and while doing so struck and killed Ms. Duskey, with his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.  Ms. Duskey was a pedestrian believed to be crossing Eagle Road at the time of the impact.

Felony Vehicular Manslaughter is a violation of Idaho Code § 18-4006(b) and is punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen (15) years and/or a $15,000 fine.
