Information for Candidates

To become an official candidate on the ballot, you must be a registered voter in your district, meet the qualifications of the office, and formally declare your candidacy with our office by completing one of the forms below. For more information, visit the Secretary of State’s frequently asked questions page for candidates. Our office has notary services available for filings.

Anyone filing to become a candidate is encouraged to make an appointment to have their filing paperwork processed. Please use the scheduling calendar or call our office at (208)-287-6860.

New 2022-2023 Precinct Boundaries

Precinct boundaries have changed with redistricting! Before filing for precinct committeeman, look up your address and new precinct number.

Candidate Resources

A candidate portal is available that provides access to absentee ballot mailing reports, statistics, and other helpful information for candidates and campaigns. If you would like to access the portal and receive daily email updates leading up to an election, please email [email protected].

Logic & Accuracy Test

Prior to every election, we conduct a Logic & Accuracy test to ensure the ballot tabulation machines are functioning properly. We invite the community, candidates and media to attend.
