FAQs

Who is a good candidate for our services?

Youth under 18 who are at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare system are eligible for services at The Bridge. These youth may be struggling with:

  • mental health concerns
  • anxiety and depression
  • alcohol & drug use
  • anger or defiance issues

or maybe they are:

  • acting out at school or home
  • running away from home
  • skipping school
  • demonstrating self-harming behaviors.

Who may receive limited services at The Bridge?

  • Youth who are currently on probation. These youth and families are already receiving services at the request of the court. If we receive a referral for youth on probation, we will work with the youth’s assigned probation officer to see if additional community resources would be helpful.
  • Youth who have serious pending charges may be eligible for full or limited services. We will review the circumstances and make a decision on a case-by-case basis.
  • Youth experiencing an active behavioral health crisis. The Pathways Community Youth Support Center will help youth successfully navigate a behavioral health crisis. We may partner with the Youth Support Center when a youth is discharged to coordinate follow-up care in the community.

No, The Bridge is not a residential facility. Beds may be available at Hays House for respite care, short-term care services that offer temporary relief and support for families.  Respite care may be planned or provided for emergencies.

What are your hours of operation?

How much do services at The Bridge cost?

Services provided by The Bridge are free. If we refer you to community resources such as counseling that have a cost, we will take your insurance status into consideration when identifying potential service providers.

Who needs to be present at the orientation meeting?

We prefer for youth to participate with at least one parent/legal guardian but encourage all family members to join including siblings. If a youth’s parent/legal guardian cannot attend and/or another adult would like to participate as the youth’s primary case partner, we will need the parent/legal guardian to sign the participation and information exchange form. We can arrange this in person or through email.

Do we have to participate if referred by law enforcement or school?

No, participation in our program is voluntary, but we hope you will consider giving our services a chance.

If I complete my case plan at The Bridge, can I come back?

We want all youth and families who participate in our services to have safe, healthy, and hopeful futures.  If you are still struggling, please let us know.
