RE: State v. Devoune Mosley – Sentencing

BOISE – On Thursday, 24-year-old Devoune Mosley was sentenced to serve up to 33 years in prison for conspiring to rob Guy Lopez II, who was killed during the attempted robbery.

On March 15, 2021, Mr. Mosley and co-defendant Matthew Crawford conspired to rob 24-year-old Lopez. During the attempted robbery, Mr. Crawford shot and killed the victim, while Mr. Mosley was the driver of the getaway vehicle used to flee the scene. Law enforcement witnessed both defendants running on foot nearby and were apprehended by Boise Police officers shortly after the shooting.

In April 2022, Mr. Mosley pled guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery. As part of the plea agreement, his remaining charges of first-degree murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon were dismissed. Co-defendant Crawford was sentenced for second-degree murder earlier this year.

Honorable Ada County District Judge Nancy Baskin sentenced Mr. Mosley to serve up to 33 years in prison, with 13 years fixed before being eligible for parole.

“Those who conspire to commit crimes with others will be held accountable for their actions. Ensuring justice in this case was made possible by the work done from the Boise Police patrol officers
and detectives who investigated this case,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts. “I, again, extend my deepest condolences to Mr. Lopez’s family and friends.”
