RE: | State v. Devon Arnold – Sentencing |
BOISE – On July 1, 22-year-old Devon Arnold was sentenced to prison for the murder of 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Davis Mosqueda.
Honorable Ada County District Judge Patrick Miller sentenced Mr. Arnold to 40 years in prison, with 15 years fixed before being eligible for parole. Based on the evidence of the case, the prosecutor’s office requested a fixed life sentence without the possibility of parole.
On Dec. 30, 2020, the victim was at a Boise apartment with friends when the defendant showed up outside of the residence. Mr. Mosqueda exited the apartment to check on a friend who was talking to Mr. Arnold. The victim was unarmed when Mr. Arnold approached Mr. Mosqueda in the parking lot, and shot him four times, killing him.
“I want to extend my deepest condolences to Mr. Mosqueda’s family and friends,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts. “Thank you to the Boise Police detectives who worked tirelessly on this case.”
