CORONER IDENTIFIES PEDESTRIAN WHO DIED AFTER BEING STRUCK IN NAMPA

DATE AND TIME OF PRONOUNCED DEATH: 10/18/2023 @ 09:57 p.m.
AGE: 65 years
BIOLOGICAL SEX: Male
PLACE OF DEATH: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center; Boise, ID
RESIDENCE: Nampa, Idaho
CAUSE OF DEATH: Multiple blunt force injuries
MANNER OF DEATH: Accident
SUMMARY:  The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified 65-year-old Michael Staelens of Nampa, Idaho, who was transported from the 2000 block of Caldwell Blvd. in Nampa, Idaho, to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on 10/18/2023.  Michael Staelens was a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Canyon County. Life saving measures were unsuccessful and Michael Staelens was pronounced dead in the hospital. Further information pending investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by Nampa Police Department.
