CORONER IDENTIFIES MAN WHO DIED IN TRAIN COLLISION

DATE AND TIME OF PRONOUNCED DEATH: 01/17/2023 @ 1530 hours
AGE: 67 years
BIOLOGICAL SEX: Male
PLACE OF DEATH: Intersection of E. Kuna Mora Rd. and S. Eagle Rd., Kuna, Idaho
RESIDENCE: Meridian, Idaho
CAUSE OF DEATH: Traumatic blunt force injuries
MANNER OF DEATH: Accident
SUMMARY:  67-year-old Gary Baker of Meridian, Idaho, was pronounced dead at the scene of a motor vehicle vs. train collision. Gary Baker was the restrained driver and sole occupant of the vehicle which collided with a train at a high rate of speed.  The collision occurred at the intersection of E. Kuna Mora Rd. and S. Eagle Rd. in Kuna, Idaho, on 01/17/23 at approximately 1320 hours.

The investigation is being conducted by Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
