CORONER IDENTIFIES CAUSE OF DEATH IN ADA COUNTY DEPUTY

DATE AND TIME OF PRONOUNCED DEATH: 04/21/2024 @ 08:39 a.m.
AGE: 27 years
BIOLOGICAL SEX: Male
PLACE OF DEATH: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center; Boise, ID
RESIDENCE: Middleton, Idaho
CAUSE OF DEATH: Gunshot wound of the neck
MANNER OF DEATH: Homicide
SUMMARY:  At approximately 08:50 a.m. on 04/21/2024, the Ada County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. 27-year-old Deputy Tobin Bolter of Middleton, Idaho, was pronounced dead after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful.  Further information pending investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force.
