RE: State v. Danny Krueger – Sentencing

BOISE – On Thursday, 47-year-old Danny Krueger was sentenced to serve up to 30 years in prison for stabbing a man at a Boise residence.

Ada County District Judge Lynn G. Norton, who noted the serious nature of the offense, sentenced Mr. Krueger to 30 years with 13 years fixed in prison before being eligible for parole.

The charges stem from a stabbing in Boise from July 2019. Mr. Krueger was arrested after he broke into the house of a person known to him, waited until two people arrived at the residence and then repeatedly stabbed a male victim at the house. The victim survived, but sustained life-threatening injuries from the attack.

Mr. Krueger pleaded guilty in March 2020 to felony aggravated battery with an enhancement for using a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime.

“I’d like to recognize and thank the Good Samaritan who was driving by and a neighbor who helped detain Mr. Krueger until police arrived on scene,” said Jan M. Bennetts, Ada County Prosecutor. “Their actions contributed to saving the victim’s life and certainly played a role in the successful detainment of the defendant, which eventually led to a successful prosecution by our office.”
