RE: State v. Lantz Reeves sentencing

BOISE – On Monday, 32-year-old Lantz Reeves was sentenced to serve up to 12 years in prison from a January incident that left a Boise Police officer injured.

Mr. Reeves pleaded guilty in March to two felonies – fleeing or eluding a peace officer and attempted grand theft. He admitted to evading police when Boise Police officers tried to serve an outstanding warrant on him in January. While eluding officers, Mr. Reeves crashed his vehicle and then attempted to steal an occupied vehicle. A responding officer was hit and injured during Mr. Reeves’ attempt to steal the vehicle.

Ada County District Judge Patrick Miller ordered Mr. Reeves to serve five years, with 1.5 years fixed in prison for eluding. For the attempted grand theft charge, Judge Miller ordered seven years, 1.5 years fixed in prison. These sentences are consecutive, so Mr. Reeves will serve at least three years fixed in prison before being eligible for parole.
