On January 26, 2017, an Ada County Jury returned a verdict finding Joshua James Alberts guilty of Second Degree Murder for the February 20, 2016, murder of Joshua Warren, which occurred in the parking lot of the Whispering Pines Apartments in Boise.
The jury heard evidence that Alberts shot and killed Joshua Warren as Warren sat unarmed in the driver’s seat of his car with his seatbelt still fastened.
The Honorable Melissa Moody presided over the trial and scheduled a sentencing hearing for Monday, March 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Joshua James Alberts faces up to a possible life sentence for Second Degree Murder.
