The Meridian Police Department submitted police reports for review to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office involving the birth and subsequent death of a baby at The Baby Place. The birth of this baby occurred on August 9, 2011. The Baby Place is a local midwifery business.
After a lengthy and thorough police investigation, the Meridian Police Department submitted the reports to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in the Fall of 2012.
The Ada County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has undertaken an exhaustive review of this case to determine whether criminal charges are appropriate in light of the circumstances surrounding this baby’s death.
Based upon that extensive review of this case, the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has concluded that it cannot prove a criminal charge beyond a reasonable doubt.
